East River BioSolutions’s proprietary TissueSpec® technology enables the isolation of intact native extracellular matrix (ECM) directly from natural organs.
East River BioSolutions has produced extracellular matrix products from over 25 different organs, and organ regions (nearly any organ of interest, including organ regions like renal cortex, medulla, and papilla), from healthy, diseased (e.g., tumor, fibrotic), and transgenic sources.
With core expertise in the isolation, preservation, and processing of organ-derived extracellular matrices, East River BioSolutions has developed a series of native- and disease- specific ECM products in multiple formats – including hydrogels, sponges, scaffolds, and solutions – for cell culture applications across life sciences and biomedical research.
Our TissueSpec® products are derived from healthy porcine organs (or alternatively from other species, including human organs, in some cases). TissueSpec® matrix products contain a suite of physiological factors present in the native matrix (e.g., collagens, laminins, proteoglycans, matricryptic peptides, growth factors, and more) with no additional or exogenous factors, recreating the cell microenvironment or niche and providing the ideal physiologic substrate for in vitro cell-based research.
